Eston & Barnaby Open Show 30/01/10

I'm sorry for the lack of updates lately, but we have been so busy. Our latest litter of puppies were born in October and kept us very busy with all seven living in the house, four of them stayed with us until after Christmas too, consequently our doggie and human house hold was chaotic at times. The adverse weather conditions kept us at home over Christmas and into the New Year too, so it was lovely to finally get out to a local Open Show and catch up and chat with doggie friends etc....
We had Sophie 'Dreamist Shine On' entered into the Cocker Puppy class. At eleven months old she has only been to a handful of shows bless her, so we were delighted that Sophie won her class and was best Cocker puppy, then even more delighted when she was given Group one in the gundog puppy group, what a lovely end to the day.

Darlington Championship Show 20/09/09

Sophie did well again today with a third placing in the minor puppy bitch class. We had a lovely day and the weather was beautiful, sunny and warm.

Shauney and Harvey were shown today and both did well, Harvey was third in Cocker Spaniel Post Graduate and Shauney was first in Cocker Spaniel Open.

Puppy farmers??

It was was brought to my attention on Sunday that a breeder in Wales has been advertising a puppy for sale using a photo of our lovely Sophie 'Dreamist Shine On'. I won't mention the site that the advert is appearing on but it is a haven for puppy farmers and commercial breeders.

This advert States that the puppy in question is from good working lines, it also states that neither parent can be seen and beneath is a photo of our Sophie! As Sophie is show type and looks nothing like a working Cocker it makes me wonder if the breeder even knows the difference?? Please be aware of anyone advertising puppies for sale in this way and never buy a puppy from any breeder who can't at least show you the mother of the puppies.

All photo's on my website are copyright. I don't mind anyone having a photo if they ask me so long as it isn't used for advertising!

Thank you.

North Riding Gundog Club 25/5/09

Today i was showing Harvey and Shauney. Shauney has been regrowing her coat for the past few months as she dropped most of it after her last season, so she hasn't been to a show for some time. Harvey was given first place in Cocker Spaniel junior and Shauney did well also and was first place in Cocker Spaniel Yearling, Harvey was then given reserve Best of Breed, the judge was Mrs E. Bothwell (Norcis) so we had a really good day and the weather was warm and sunny for a change too!

Sunderland & District Canine Society 19/04/09

Just Harvey showing again today and entered in Cocker Spaniel junior, he showed so well again and was given first place in his class.

Today we took Harvey to Eston where Newton Aycliffe canine society were holding their open show and he showed himself well in the Cocker Spaniel Yearling class to gain a very creditable second place in good company, well done Harvey.

Darlington Open Show 7/2/09

Darlington Open Show was held at Scorton today and we had entered Harvey in Cocker Spaniel Graduate, he was a a very good boy and a little bit out of his depth in this class but was given a third placing. We had a good day catching up with our friends. Harvey enjoyed himself and all the fuss and attention he got from everyone we met.

7/12/08 Otley Open Show

We haven't had much time lately to get out to any shows so it was nice to be able to make our way to Leeds today to show Harvey at his first show Otley Open.

There were no breed classes scheduled for Cockers so we had to enter Harvey into AVNSC and AV classes. Harvey has only attended a handful of training classes and as he is now eleven months old and quite a handful! i wasn't sure how he was going to behave, i shouldn't have worried though as he was brilliant and showed himself off like he had done it all before. Harvey was placed first in AVNSC gundog puppy, best AVNSC puppy and reserve best AVNSC. We then went into the gundog puppy group and Harvey was given puppy group three. Harvey was also placed first in AV puppy gundog. A lovely start to showing Harvey, and great to see he enjoyed himself too.

Cleveland Show Society 26/7/08

We haven't been to many shows so far this year, but made it to Stewarts Park in Middleborough yesterday with Abby, Shauney and Harvey. Harvey wasn't shown yesterday as he isn't quite ready yet, but he enjoyed his day just walking around the show ground and meeting lots of other breeds. The Judge for Cockers was Mr Duglass from Ireland and he awarded Shauney 'Dreamist Aurelia' first place in the Cocker Spaniel junior class, Abby 'Owenabby Mystic Lady by Dreamist' was awarded second place in the Cocker Spaniel Post Graduate class. My friend Pat was awarded second place in Cocker Spaniel junior and first place in AV junior with Shauney's brother Denzel, 'Dreamist Achate'.  We had a lovely day and the weather was beautiful, a lovely venue and such a friendly, well run show. Thankyou  Louise for the photo's you sent me of Jennifer grooming Shauney before she went into the ring and the photo taken before we went home (didn't know you had taken these) I was taking photo's of  Sandra's puppy and forgot to take any of our dogs.

North Riding Gundog Club 25/05/08

We took Abby and Shauney to North Riding Gundog today and had a lovely day. Weather was fine but very windy and  we all came home a little sun burned, except Dave who stayed at home to doggie sit. Of course the dogs were fine as they were well sheltered . Abby was placed first in the Cocker Spaniel Post Graduate class and Shauney was placed second in the Cocker Spaniel Puppy class. Abby then went on to take Best of Breed, which was lovely as this was her first show for over six months as we have been waiting for her coat to grow back after her last season.

Sunderland & District Canine Society 20/04/08

Another good day for Shauney 'Dreamist Aurelia' and Jennifer, with Shauney taking first place in the Cocker Spaniel Junior class, then given best Cocker Spaniel puppy. Jennifer also took Shauney into A.V. gundog puppy and Shauney was placed first.

Consett Canine Society 13/4/08

Today was our first show for around six months. I had entered Abby and Shauney, but Abby decided to come into season last week so couldn't go. Jennifer handled 'Shauney' and i watched, they both went so well together and 'Shauney' was awarded best Cocker puppy then fourth in the gundog puppy group, also first in AV gundog puppy. I am so proud of them both!
